Mom left a sticky note by my bowl to remind me that Friday is #FoodieFriday. Really mom? I can remember these things. I guess I should write something about food, don’t want to disappoint mom. Well, my food is Taste of the Wild, have it everyday for breakfast and dinner. I can’t recommend it enough. Oh, you want to hear about food at Walt Disney World? Ok, let’s talk about my favorite food, cheese! Yum! There is nothing better then mom surprising me with a shredded cheese topper to my chow. I got some great Disney cheese dishes for your next trip down to see the mouse!
First Stop on Our Disney Cheese Tour
What goes best with cheese, macaroni of course! Last week I heard dad talking with grandma on the phone. He thought I was taking a nap, I wasn’t, just wanted some quiet time to myself. Anyways, what I heard was the macaroni and cheese at Les Chefs de France in the French pavilion at Epcot is to die for. Grandma couldn’t stop talking about it. What makes the dish is the creamy, buttery, bechamel (yeah I know fancy words!) sauce they use to melt the gruyere cheese into. So nutty and sharp! I’m licking my chops just thinking about it. Definitely sounds like a must for any cheese fans.
Second Stop on Our Disney Cheese Tour
If I can tell you anything about this family it’s that everyone loves Mexican food. Last week while I was hanging out in the kitchen, hoping mom would share a bit (she did), I heard her speaking with auntie. Like most times they talk, it was about medical stuff and food. Boy did I get a good tip for you, over at La Hacienda de San Angel, or as mom calls it the other Mexican restaurant, the queso is star of the show. They combine warm gooey cheeses with chorizo, onions, and poblano pepper. Sounds so good, where are the tortilla chips? I know dad has to have some around here somewhere! If you’re a queso fan this sounds too good to turn down.
Beagle Dog Bonus Insight: The La Hacienda de San Angel restaurant is located on the World Showcase Lagoon and has huge windows. It is a cool place to watch Illuminations from if you’re looking for something a little different. Not the perfect view, but enjoyable…especially with the queso!
Last Stop of Our Disney Cheese Tour
In my opinion, I think I saved the best for last. A while back, when grandpa was visiting, he kept raving that the cheddar cheese soup is the must try thing at Epcot. Well, I’m passing this great tidbit to you. At Le Cellier restaurant in the Canada pavilion they are serving up a cheese soup that steals the show. They combine bacon (how can you not like bacon?), celery, onion, and Canadian Black Diamond white cheddar to create this delectably cheesy delight. Who needs the spoon, let’s just dive in and lap it up! Well, maybe only I can get away with doing that!
Well folks, that wraps up our Disney cheese tour and sadly our week together. What do you think, should mom and dad let me write a few more articles? You know what to do, howl from the rooftops that you want the one and only beagle back at the helm!
After all this talk about walking, I’m thirsty! Give me two shakes of the tail, I’m going to run to the bathroom for a quick drink. While mom and dad enjoy their adult timeouts, I’m a clean living beagle, so it’s just water for me. That’s the idea for my next article, Disney water! It’s a must for any trip to Walt Disney World, it gets hot, or so I hear.
In my world there are only two types of water, kitchen water or the luxurious bathroom water. My favorite brand is, le toilette. It’s what beagle dreams are made of! However, doing a quick Google search, it looks like you humans have tons of Disney water options. The top result was bottled water, either by Dasani ($3.50 per bottle) or Smartwater ($5.50 per bottle). What no le toilette?! You don’t know what you’re missing! I heard mom and dad telling one of their friends a less expensive way to get bottle water. They said to order it online from InstaCart or Prime Now and have it delivered to the resort. Apparently, you can bring your own non-alcoholic drinks in the parks.
Now if I know my mom and dad, they probably aren’t buying bottled water. They’re always walking around the house with those Nalgene bottles. It’s like they’re camels or something, preparing for a trek through the desert. Just before they left I spied dad putting that bottle into his backpack. It got me thinking, Walt Disney World must have a way for them to fill up at the parks. Aha! The second result of my Google search says there are Disney water fountains around the parks to fill bottles. Looks like they brings those water bottles to the parks and refill them throughout the day.
Beagle Dog Bonus Insight: Yeah, I don’t have an annual pass, so I’m switching it for my articles. I just read that if you go to any of the quick serve location at Disney and ask for water they will give you fountain water for free.
The last result Google is showing is around free filtered water. Not 100% sure what filtered water is…but it must be good, it looks like it got tons of likes and comments. Here is what everyone is saying, if you go to any Starbucks location you can ask for water they will give it to you for free and it’s filtered. I think I’ve overheard mom saying that the water from the room is also filtered now so they could fill their bottles before they leave the room.
As always, it’s been fun, but I gotta go. I hear Netflix calling my name, have you seen that show Dogs? I’m sucked in, I’ve been binge watching since mom and dad left. Hopefully, I can get through it before that dog sitter comes back and puts on that Stranger Things show. One more quick stop at the bathroom for a drink! Hope helps answer your Disney water questions, if not let me know and I’ll dig in for more info!
Can you believe it?! They’re off at Walt Disney World again. You know what that means, this beagle dog has to cover the blog for the week. When I’m in charge that means we talk about my favorite things. Up first is my favorite past time, walks! I got my leash, you go grab one of those bags you humans seem to need every time we go a for a walk and we’re ready to prance! Let’s chat about walking at Disney.
From what mom and dad tell me, since they haven’t taken me yet (hint hint), you do a lot of walking at Disney. Sounds amazing! I got some beagle insight for you as I know a thing or two about walking. So don’t tell mom or dad, but I’ve been spying on them over the years when they pack. They think they’re being crafty with hiding bags in the garage and spreading clothes around the house. But I know. You know I know!
Here is what I’ve seen. First they tend to pack a lot of those things you humans put on your feet. You know what I’m talking about, those things. Mom and dad tried to put on them on my paws once, and just ended up walking (while more like marching) funny. How do you do it?! Do tell! I digress. I’ve heard mom talking to my auntie on FaceTime, yeah I know what FaceTime is I just pretend I don’t, telling her that switching pairs everyday helps for all the walking at Disney. Apparently, there tons of walking at Walt Disney World, 5+ miles a day depending on your style. I’ve been keeping an eye on the Fitbit app and seeing their step totals sometimes upwards of 30,000 per day!. #BeagleDreams #Jealous
Now dad, he and I are on the same page. We like our paws to be free! Mom uses this phrase, flip flop, to describe what dad wears all the time, I assume you know what that means. From what I can tell, bring whatever you find comfortable that you could walk in for a while. Make sure you’ve walked in them previously. If you’re looking for a walking partner, give me a shout!
The second thing is I’ve see them pack are these really thin foot shaped things, you know what I’m talking about, those things I like to chew and rip apart, socks!! Yes, socks!! They’re never packing the super soft ones (probably cause I chewed them), it always those ones they wear when they go running. I would have to assume it’s to help with the heat. They tend to pack more socks than days…they must go through multiple pairs a day. With all that walking you’ll probably want some room for your feet to breathe in your shoes, if that’s what you’re wearing.
Alright I got to go, the dog sitter will be back soon and I don’t want to creep her out! Wouldn’t you be caught off guard seeing a beagle type? Yeah, that’s what I thought. Now you know what mom and dad do to prepare for walking at Disney, if you have questions let me know and I’ll see what I can dig up! It’s going to be a great week everyone! I’m guessing this will be the blogs best week yet!
Shhhh! Mom and dad just left for dinner and I’m supposed to be “napping”. Well, I’m not…little do they know that when they leave, I surf the web. A dog’s got to stay up-to-date with the news.
I can’t believe it, they’ve been telling me for years that I couldn’t go to Walt Disney World and meet my heroes….Goofy and Pluto. Well, I just read that Walt Disney World is continuing their dog-friendly resort program at select resorts. I just have to have Pluto’s Welcome Kit with all the cool stuff, a mat, bowls, new pet ID tag, plastic bags, puppy pads and a map of the coolest dog walking trails. The program has been live for almost a year, and they didn’t tell me.
Don’t be like my parentals, let your pups know the great news. Oh no, I think I hear them coming home, I’m going to go pack my favorite bone and snazzy Disney bandana. Goofy and Pluto – I’ll see you real soon!
Mom and dad, if you read this….you can make it up to me with a stay at my favorite resort, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. I’ve heard they got the best sniffing spots!
