It’s a party within a party! Brand new this year is Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. The famed dognapper is crashing the party to throw a party of her own and is inviting a select few special guests. No dogs allowed unless they are Dalmatians of course. The big question is should you add Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway to your Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party experience? That’s what we’re here to answer. We’ve made the guest list! Let’s party the night away with Cruella!
What’s Is It?
Dinner is served! Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway is a dining experience within Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. With unlimited food and beverage (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) the event offers a way to enjoy a variety of snacks both savory and sweet while attending Mickey’s bash. Guests can come and go as they please from 9:30 pm to 12:30 am.
What makes the event stand out is the reserved seating for the Boo to You parade at 11 pm. The reserved seating is at the very beginning of Main Street USA, with grand views of the castle as the backdrop to the parade.
Let’s not forget you get to meet the host!
Passholder Insights: The event is a great way to reserve your spot for the parade, while you enjoy the rest of the party.
Where Is It?
Move over Tony! Cruella has taken over Tony’s Town Square Restaurant for her Hideaway. When entering the Magic Kingdom you’ll see the restaurant on your right side. Walking through the front door is the hostess stand with a cast member waiting to check you in. You’ll check it at the hostess stand to receive your Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway band.
Passholder Insights: We recommend heading to Tony’s Town Square Restaurant about 10 minutes prior to check-in.
Crullea’s Halloween Hideaway is offering up a spread of small appetizers and bite-sized desserts. On the savory side, the offerings include an array of charcuterie options to choose from, three different types of arancini (fried risotto balls), meatballs, fried mozzarella, spinach dip, three different flatbreads, and cooked to order butternut squash ravioli.
Overall the savory dishes were solid, with the star of the show definitely being the butternut squash ravioli. The pasta is a combines black and white pasta to represent, well, this is Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway. We found the texture of the ravioli to be al dente with the filling having the slightest sweetness from the butternut squash. The oregano helped balance out the sweetness, making for a delightful dish. We may have had a few of these.
Halloween and sweets go hand and hand. At Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway, there we plenty of sweet treats to wash down the savory flavors. From cannoli’s to cheesecake bites, and of course peanut cookies that looked like dog treats, there’s something for everyone’s sweet tooth. Our favorite by far was the cheesecake, and you had Nate at cheesecake. Swapping out the crust for a red velvet cake the cheesecake was topped with whipped cream and strawberry candies.
To wash it all down you had the choice of a few different beers, a cider, wine, champagne, and the standard Coco-Cola products.
Passholder Insights: At the Magic Kingdom the only places that serve alcohol are the restaurants. All drinks will need to be consumed in the restaurant.
Wow! Arguable the best spot in the Magic Kingdom to watch the Boo to You parade. With Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway reserved seating you’re front and center to watch all your favorite characters make their way down Main Street USA. With the castle in the background is the perfect picture location.
The location is towards the end of the parade route. With the parade starting at 11 pm, it will take about 15 minutes before you see the first float. You’ll still want to head out early to see a special guest make his way through the park. We won’t ruin the surprise!
Passholder Insights: There are tons of great viewing areas for the parade around the park. You can use the same locations as the Festival of Fantasy Parade.
Let’s answer the big question. Is it worth it? Overall Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway was a fantastic experience. The character interactions with Cruella were amazing, the food was definitely solid, and you couldn’t ask for a better spot for the parade. If you’re looking for a way to reserve a seat for the Boo To You parade, then Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway is a great experience for you.
We’re looking at the event as a dining experience similar to the Candlelight Processional at Epcot where the ticket price covers a meal and reserved seating for an event. For us, if it was our first time going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party we would probably look to do it on a future visit. The event has tons to see and do, and Cruella’s Halloween Hideaway, while fantastic, does take you away from the event for a period of time. Here comes the parade, let’s go find out spot!
