How do they do it? If you’ve ever wondered how Disney creates the holiday magic you can take a peek behind the curtain with Disney holiday tours. This holiday season Walt Disney World is offering two different hard ticket tours (additional cost) that take you behind the scenes for a magical holiday, experience. Let’s take a look at what each of the Disney holiday tours offers.

Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy

Everywhere you look during the holiday season you’ll see gorgeous elaborate decorations, flower arrangements, and goodies around Walt Disney World. How do they do it? Updated this year, Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy tour takes you on a 3.5 hour adventure behind the holiday magic to learn the eye popping logistics and manpower it involves to transform Walt Disney World into a “winter wonderland”.

Starting on November 19th and running everyday at 9 am through December 29th, this Disney holiday tour costs $139 per person. Additionally theme park admission is not needed. The tour begins at Epcot and takes you through 3 different experiences. First stop explores how cast members design the unique decorations around Walt Disney World. Next stop is over in the floral department for a look at how the special holiday floral displays are brought together. Last stop, is treat time! Put on your chef hat and your best holiday apron it’s time to whip up a holiday goodie with a Disney Springs culinary artist.

The tour wraps up with a holiday souvenir and special treat!

Passholder Insight: No park admission is needed for the tour; please note that if you wish to spend the remainder of the day in the parks you will need a regular ticket. The tour wraps up at 12:30 pm.

Disney’s Holiday D-Lights

If you’re looking for the “ultimate” behind the scenes Disney holiday tour, the Disney’s Holiday D-Lights is for you! Join a 6-hour tour through both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot holiday lights and sounds. Your guide will unwrap some of the festive traditions and customs at both the parks.

Offered on 16 select nights, the cost is $279 per person. Again park admission is not required. Your holiday stroll begins at the Wilderness Lodge with a family style dinner at Whispering Canyon. After filling your belly with some tasty barbecue (that’s festive right?), you’ll head to the Magic Kingdom to meet up with the decorators responsible for making the castle into an (spoiler alert!) “ice palace”. Get your burning questions answered from the experts, before seeing the breathtaking castle lighting ceremony. Next stop, Epcot!

As part of the tour you get a limited edition Disney pin. The pin is exclusive to the tour. Bring on the special “flare”! Office Space anyone?

You’ll make your way to the American pavilion to take in the Candlelight Processional show. For all the details on the Candlelight Processional check out our Epcot Holiday Guide. Last stop on the tour is to your special viewing area for Illuminations with the holiday finale.

Passholder Insight: This tour is a great alternative to the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package if you’re looking for a more in-depth holiday experience. Plus it includes dinner!
