Should we call it holiday season or shopping season? For today’s DVC Duo Holiday Guide we’re going to go with shopping season. No trip to Walt Disney World or any destination for that matter is complete without at least one souvenir with your favorite character on it. They even have Grumpy apparel for those less enthusiastic shall we say, members of your group! Spread around Walt Disney World you’ll find some great holiday stores for those rare ornaments you’ve been dreaming about. Let’s grab our shopping bags (hopefully reusable bags!) and go Disney holiday shopping!
Yearly Holiday Offerings
Throughout Walt Disney World property you can find “this years” holiday merchandise. From the theme parks to Disney resort gift shops you’ll find various selections from this years offerings. For a more “complete” view of everything Disney is offering for the season check out one of the main stores at each of the theme parks; Magic Kingdom – Emporium, Epcot – Mouse Gear, Hollywood Studios – Mickey’s of Hollywood, and the Animal Kingdom – Disney Outfitters. Each of these locations will boast the majority of the year’s options for Disney holiday shopping!
Christmas Shops – Theme Parks
Similar to coffee, Disney has “specialty” Christmas stores within the parks. Over at Epcot is Christmas Goodies within the Germany Pavilion in World Showcase. Filled with traditional German style glass ornaments and nutcrackers, the store is a great place to find non-Disney related decorations. The ornaments range from a stein to even a Christmas pickle. Yes, a Christmas pickle! The back of the box outlines the story of the holiday tradition around the pickle. We’ve got one! It’s a great conversation starter! This is also where you will find hand blown glass ornaments, they are real show stoppers!
Heading over to Hollywood Studios tucked away by Mama Melrose and the Muppet store is It’s A Wonderful Shop. It may be small in stature, packs a real holiday punch! Themed after an Italian NYC style shop, you can find a few ornament “snowflakes” on your Disney holiday shopping journey! We found one of our favorite ornaments in this shop, a Mickey and Minnie ornament of them in Christmas plaid outfits! Adorable!
In our opinion, the best theme park Christmas store for your Disney holiday shopping is Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square of the Magic Kingdom. Bursting at the holiday seams (ate too many cookies at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!) with ornaments, Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is the place to find that perfect character ornament you’ve been searching out. Best part is, you can catch the Muppets telling their tales of Great Moments in American history right outside the front door! Muppet Christmas Carol anyone? Heat wave! This is my island in the sun….!
The Go-to Christmas Shop!
If you can’t find it here, then more than likely Disney hasn’t created it. At the far end of the Marketplace at Disney Springs, near the giant volcano is Disney’s Days of Christmas. Anything you’re looking for to decorate your house in all things Disney you’ll find here. From the subtle to the not so subtle, they have it. It is the equivalent to World of Disney for all things Disney holiday shopping. You can find anything from ornament to tree skirts to wreaths (oh yeah, we’ve one of those too!) This is no place for The Grinch, that’s for sure!
No matter the time of year you’ll always be able to check out the Disney holiday shopping at the parks and Disney Springs. Which character would you like on your Christmas tree? Let us know below or on our Facebook page!
