Pizza is our go-to food no matter where we are. To say we love pizza isn’t giving it enough justice. We’re the people who say there is no bad pizza, just levels from good to great. For our pizza lovers out there, let’s talk Disney Pizza!
Great food on Disney property is easy to find, however finding great pizza is a little more challenging. Over the years Disney pizza has usually fallen in the good category, not great. So much so that Disney recently announced that Pizza Rizzo in Hollywood Studios is moving to a seasonal restaurant. We’re not surprised by the change. We recently had the opportunity to try Pizza Rizzo and it was good but reminded me of an infamous frozen pizza you would find at your grocery store. “It’s not delivery it’s….” Where are the hidden Disney pizza gems? No worries, we’ve done the taste testing for you!
DVC Duo Disney Pizza Recommendations
Boardwalk Pizza Window
If you’re jonesing for a slice, check out the pizza window on the Boardwalk for that quick fix. It’s located between the bakery and Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk. Stroll up to the window and order a pie! It’s a quick-serve and they’ve recently expanded the menu options to include subs and other toppings such as sausage and mushroom. We love the classic cheese but however you slice it, the pizza window offers a solid option for a quick grab. It makes the perfect snack when walking between Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
Passholder Insight: The pizza window also offers full pies and an outdoor seating area. If you’re staying at the Boardwalk or any of the resorts around Crescent Lake, skip the in-room pizza delivery and order from the window. Better pizza and save the money on delivery fees!
Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria
Arguably the best Disney pizza! Located in the Italy pavilion at Epcot, Via Napoli serves up authentic Neapolitan style pizza. On our last visit, our server told us they shipped in the pizza ovens from Naples. The ingredients are reportedly all imported from Italy as well. Rumor is they even bring in the water from Italy. Not sure if I believe that one, but with how light and airy the crust is, we could be convinced.
Via Napoli is a great sit down pizza joint for parties of all sizes. They have pizzas ranging from personal size to 20”. For larger groups, they have a pizza called the Mezzo Metro, but be forewarned the servers need a cart to deliver this mammoth pie to your table. You really can’t go wrong with any of the pizzas. Our favorite is the prosciutto and melon pie. We know it sounds crazy. Trust us, it’s great!
Passholder Insight: We would recommend making an advance dining reservation, especially if you have a larger group. We have walked-in a few times, but more often than not they are busy from open to close.
Our last Disney Pizza recommendation is Blaze pizza over at Disney Springs. It is a fast-casual restaurant and the perfect place to put your pizza topping creativity to the test. Similar to a Chipotle ordering process, your pizza is made right in front of you as you pick out everything from sauce to toppings. Less than 4 minutes later your pizza is ready to eat!
Blaze is definitely a solid Disney pizza choice. The thin crust is the perfect balance between crispy with a little chew. We will say the overall taste depends a lot on what you choose for a sauce and toppings. They have about 40 different options to choose from, so choose wisely. Be one with the pizza force!
Passholder Insight: They do offer signature pizzas as well. Sometimes too many options are not always a good thing, especially on vacation (and for Serena).
We’re always on the lookout for new Disney pizza options. Let us know if you find a hidden gem! Mangia!
