We love Disney, there’s no doubt about it.  From the theme parks and ironic t-shirts to fireworks and magical moments, Disney is engrained in our lives. Joining Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is something we went back and forth on for some time. Looking back now, it was the best decision we made, it fits us to a “T”.  Why is it so great for us?

Timeshare is a scary word and could be a swear in some areas of the country.  One week of vacation at the same resort, at the same time, every year, yuck! That sounds horrible and something neither of us could ever do.  When we started to think about DVC, we weren’t sure if it was the best thing for us. Could we really go to Disney all the time for vacation? I could go to Disney every week, and I may have a sleeping bag stashed behind Big Thunder Mountain…shhh.  Serena loves going to Disney every 12 to 18 months.

Nothing is based on a week or a particular resort or even Disney for that matter.  It’s like a choose your own adventure. You buy some points and see where they take for the next 50 years.  The world becomes your oyster, just avoid the bads ones.

Picking your resort when you travel is challenging.  We would read endless reviews and look at pictures from all angles, crossing our fingers, and hope we’d picked the hidden the gem.  When traveling to Walt Disney World we knew the quality of resort we’d get every time, but everywhere else we traveled was always a coin flip.

Knowing we would travel to non-Disney resorts, we investigated.  “Oh boy”, were we happily surprised. Mickey definitely does his research, one may even say he’s a roads scholar when picking resorts.

There is no better feeling than picking a resort knowing it will be enjoyable.  It is one less thing to worry about before you travel. Pick a place and go experience it.

After much consideration and maybe a spreadsheet or two.  We did it. We took the plunge. Our favorite pastime is to open up the DVC website and find our next great adventure.
