Vacation golf. For all my golfers out there, need I say more? We all do it, as soon as a trip is booked, we start Googling for golf courses nearby. Disney is no different. Walt Disney World has three championship courses and a fun nine hole course. If you have time for eighteen holes, I would definitely recommend the Magnolia Course. Great layout, challenging course, and a Mickey bunker to boot. Trust me, you’ll want to toss a ball in the bunker and try to hit it out. Impossible to resist.
Sneak in 9
Most times when you’re at Walt Disney World, golf tends to take a backseat to other fun activities. I’m looking at you, Expedition Everest. I’m here to tell you a little secret. Let’s keep it between us. Disney does this thing called the Sunrise 9. We love this hidden secret. Serena and I usually end up playing a couple of rounds. Most days we tee-off and are done 9 nine holes by 9 am, plenty of time to still enjoy the parks.
Why We Love It
When we’re at Walt Disney World, the last thing either of us want to do is play a 5+ hr round of golf. If you can’t tell yet, you will find out soon, we like to go. 🙂 About three years ago we found out about the Sunrise 9 when trying to book a tee time. It seemed too good to be true, $35 per person for nine holes, with a cart, breakfast sandwich, and two drinks (hello breakfast brew!). Believe us, it’s even better than it sounds.
There is something about strolling up to a nearly empty golf course, seeing the sunrise illuminating the dew on grass that is just so peaceful. You may even get a gander at a deer or wild turkey. For us, it’s a great way to relax and enjoy a
You have the option to play the back nine at any of the 3 championship courses and you could also do the Sunset 9. The choice is yours. Hit ’em straight!
